To date, many Dominicans live in countries affected by war, conflicts and violence. In Iraq, Central African Republic and Burundi, just to name a few, Dominicans are involved in conflict resolution and peace-building processes. Dominicans for Justice and Peace is intent on supporting those efforts at the UN by addressing root causes of conflicts, denouncing human rights violations in conflicting States and regions and promoting concrete steps for peaceful conflict resolution.
Dominicans for Justice and Peace also assists the consolidation of peace in post-conflict States and regions. It supports efforts of Dominicans and other partners on the ground towards the restoration and maintenance of security, the promotion of good governance, improving the protection of vulnerable people, etc.
