Dominicans for Justice and Peace recently took part in a meeting of the CINGO (Catholic-Inspired NGOs) Forum, held in Geneva on 11 September with Bishop Charles Morerod, OP, Bishop of Lausanne, Geneva and Fribourg and a Dominican friar.
The CINGO Forum, to which Dominicans for Justice and Peace is a member, is a network of Catholic-inspired NGOs with consultative status at international and regional institutions. It coordinates joint engagement with international bodies and to promote collective reflection on key issues such as the right to education, the right to development, and the rights of families. The meeting provided an important opportunity to introduce Bishop Morerod to the Forum’s activities and its collaboration with the Permanent Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations in Geneva, while also enabling him to meet for the first time with Catholic NGOs active at the UN and learn more about their advocacy and engagement.
