Besides the important work of advocating for the promotion and protection of human rights within the UN, it is crucial to build the capacities and knowledge of Dominicans and other civil society members around the functioning of the UN’s mechanisms and the work of human rights monitoring and advocacy. Consequently, Dominicans for Justice and Peace regularly organises workshops in specific countries to train Dominicans and other partners from civil society. The organisation also welcomes Dominicans and other collaborators at its office in Geneva in order to ensure exposure to its international advocacy efforts.
With its training programme, Dominicans for Justice and Peace hopes to ensure the sustainability of the Dominicans’ engagement in the promotion and protection of human rights on the ground and to strengthen the organisation’s international advocacy efforts, thanks to strong local contributions.
